Competition Winners

Thank you to everyone who entered our Treasure Island Cover Competition – we were thrilled with all the entries! (Click here to see them all.)

The competition was judged by guest judge Iain McIntosh, acclaimed illustrator for Alexander McCall Smith. Here are the winners with judge’s comments:

1st Place:

Ben Lewis, P5, Stockbridge Primary School

Judge Iain McIntosh said…

“A lovely cover with not a dull area in the whole picture. Beautifully designed and crafted hand-lettering (and crosses!). Full of detail and interest which has been very sensitively drawn.”

2nd Place:

Amber Wilson, P6T, Lorne Primary School

Judge Iain McIntosh said…

“Big and bold. Very punchy and fearless. In the future this budding artist should be designing posters.”

3rd Place:

Adrianna Poziemsko, P6, Broomhouse Primary School

Judge Iain McIntosh said…

“Lots of good ideas in this. I love the floating island and rain falling the ship. Not strictly as I remember the story but very quirky and wins extra points for the clever use of back cover panel.”
